Hmm...maybe this is skewed by all of the little Cessnas that crash all of the time (people usually survive). I want to know how many people survive commercial airline crashes.
Actually some of the stuff that youre supposed to do is wrong, such as like putting your head down like youre in the fetal position, it you do that youll break your neck on impact
Do you mean whiplash like you get in a car accident? That happens because your head snaps backwards. It's surprisingly easy to decapitate yourself with sheer force, but at the same time you've really got to be trying to decapitate yourself. You might "break" your neck in the way that you hit something with your head and it slams your neck in a weird way like a car accident without the headrest does, but if you're talking about hyperextending the neck, that really doesn't happen ever unless it's a long-drop hanging.
