You shouldn't expect this friend to make an acing career automatically though. You don't have to be that super duper smart to pass thru school with no efforts and good results, and when you're just pretty, pretty smart, you'll need a lot of discipline and learning skills to make an economically successful career. That's how you get the surprisingly witty 40+ year old "barristas" and retail workers, where you think why the hell does such a smart person do such a shitty job. S/he probably was that one friend...
Oh, I averaged closer to a B average than an A average in school, mostly because I wouldn't turn in homework, since it was such a pain to do. I would ace nearly every test, however.
