Teacher here: if Wikipedia does a better job than you, you are a bad teacher and should sort it out. We tend to dislike Wikipedia because, the further you go on a given subject, the less reliable and comprehensive Wikipedia becomes.

Wikipedia is only really useful for collating information. If you need to use anything from it just go down to the sources at the bottom and look them up. Since it includes the reference on the page it will shorten your research time giving your more time to slack off and browse Funsubstance.

Even if the teacher did mess with Wikipedia, it would be removed immediately and he would probably be banned or given a warning. The wikipedia people do not like you to mess with their pages!
