i read somewhere that you shouldn't do that because when your hair is wet it can break and stretch more easily, and if you twist it in a towel it can cause frizzy and damaged hair. i also read that you can use a cotton t-shirt instead a towel, because the fabric is gentler on the hair.
Well, you definitely shouldn't comb your hair when it's wet. It breaks and tears your hair. As for the twisting, I don't know. It seems safer to gently twist your hair than for example put it in a ponytail cause the band can break your hair a bit. And it's definitely better than blow-drying because the heat and air current fuck your hair up a lot, apparently.
You can comb your hair while it's wet, you should use a wide toothed comb that doesn't pull on your hair as much. It also helps if you condition your hair regularly. I personally use a detangler spray that micro-conditions before I comb my hair after a shower. I've never heard of a towel wrap causing breakage or damage though.
I used to have tons of hair breakage but now I wrap my hair in a towel for about 10 to 15 minutes. Then use detangler and comb through my hair with a shower comb and then wrap my hair back up for about 5 more minutes. Then take it down and re-comb and let it air dry. Combining that routine with a good strengthening and anti-breakage shampoo and conditioner, I have a lot less breakage than before.
not twisting my hair into a towel has definitely helped my hair in the case of frizz and breakage but i guess it depends? but conditioning it and using a wide-toothed comb is definitely a must-use.
Hahaha I can't believe you didn't know this(i have shoulder long man hair, but I let it drip, what's it gonna do, wet my manly chest, Omigosh I'm hot, but I do understand the process of wiping it head down, and the rest is kinda logical). It's kinda like a snail. Wait till I tell you how nuns put on their head gear or whatever it's called
Of course it's in the twisted part
