They have rule to not kill children or pregnant women, even if they pull a weapon on them. If they break this rule, it is punishable by death or banishment.

Awesome! I feel like I didn't pay enough attention when I watched them the first time. This makes me want to re-watch them.

It's much more apparent in the comics and games though.
