This post posits that not a single person cared about any of the 59 million people who died this year. Prove it. I will save you the time, you can't.

The post is ridiculing the concept that people are so upset over the numerous celebrity deaths, while 59 million noncelebrities died that no one cared about. While in a few cases that may be true, as a rule every death is mourned by at least a few.

Guys I'm sorry. Several of the comments from my account this morning have not been made from me. Either someone has been messing with my phone or my account. My apologies fellow FS people. These haven't been as bad as the others. But my I am sorry if I have offended or upset anyone.

The reason such a big deal is made iver celebrity death is because these are people who make an impact on so many lives. They were key figures in our childhood while we may not have known them personally, they were such a significant part of our lives that if felt as though we did. They entertained us, made us laugh when sometimes we didn't think anything could. And now they are gone and we feel the world has been diminished by that loss. It doesn't mean we aren't aware there were countless other deaths this year. There are wars and terrorists and natural disasters. Focusing on those could drive you insane. But then, that is another reason we love our entertainers so much, they offer respite from the chaos and darkness around us.

I was thinking of that too. People complain about 2016 because so many movie stars and other famous people died, but every year many people die, so what's special about 2016?

I would say that most were truly cared about by the same number of people and all were cared about by one.
