It's really not all that complicated. A lot of really fast sports cars have the engines in the back instead of front because it allows them to streamline the car better, and also it allows more space for more cylinders. Obviously the reverse and such are wired a little differently, but it's the same basic structure as a regular car.

Plus it helps to keep the weight of the car at the back which stops it from sliding out at the stupidluck high speeds these cars are designed to reach; As for the inevitable "well then the front would slide out or flip up...blah" that's why they streamline the car to use wind resistance to push the front end of the car towards the floor, the faster the car goes the stronger the push, therefore guaranteeing the car stays on the road at all times.
