Because it makes the GS organization look bad, if a small child is in front of a pot store.
Every year, during the annual cookie rally, we're told places we cannot sell in front of. Medical Marijuana Growers (Arizona is where I live), Liquor stores, Clubs,
Because if someone were to get hurt, they can sue the GS council.
the troop that is shown in the picture had their cookie license taken away from them, and they cannot sell again.
Wow they're taking it waaay to seriously. It's literally just selling cookies. Are you telling me selling in front of a pot store is worse than selling cookies door to door? I would say the latter is even more dangerous.
Basically they said they did not support her actions because they felt it was inappropriate for her to sell in front of an establishment which she could not legally enter without an adult. As others have said, its stupid. Personally I think it's a sign of great business sense.
Its also good people sense. Because GS in an institution to raise girls. And a person who is raised right does not smoke pot until they're old enough that said smoking doesn't drown their brain in Dopamine. Or get drunk and get seriously hurt. Or have sex and get pregnant in a club before she's even an adult. These are children. They shouldn't be exposed to the indecency of human nature before they have to.
The store owner started using this picture as advertising, offering free weed to anyone that purchased cookies from her. That's what got her "in trouble." There's more to the story than just selling cookies.
So.... *she* got in trouble with the GS because an adult took advantage of her - either in her ignorance or of her naivete.
Well, it's good to see that her Girl Scout experience is preparing her for the realities of life.
I've read several articles on this and not one mentioned free weed, which makes no sense anyway. If anything it would be the other way around, free cookies with weed purchase.
And if the weed thing was true, than the girl (and her parent) would have been in even /more/ trouble.

"come on sweetie, lets go to the place where druggies hang out so you can sell the cookies" good idea on making money, but irresponsible to have the kid exposed to that many drug addicts. that is like hanging out outside a bar and selling pretzels. i wouldn't want my kid to hanging out with addicts.
