When I was 13, I had to pick the subjects that I would do for my GCSEs, and they would later on help me get into the career I wanted. But I've completely changed my mind in those 4 years, and now I have qualifications I don't really need.

While there are many problems school system, I don't believe this gripe to be one of them. They don't expect you to know what you want to do for the rest of your life, but are mearly trying to teach about setting goals and a giving a road map on how to achieve them.

I didn't find my true career until after I graduated college. i was 21. ironically it's the same career I wanted when I was 8 that everyone said "wasn't realistic". never give up on your dreams!

Yes, but then you might not meet the requirements and you'd have to return to school (or take extra classes) to get the needed credits.

But of course all highschoolers know all of the classes that you're going to have to take and can comment on the ones that are teaching them things they'll never need to know. They already know the subjects they'll never need to know about for the rest of their lives. Just ask some.
