For men it's not that unusual to have their heads shaved - I'd be REALLY impressed if her female classmates did that too. Still a super cute way to show support though :)

our school does a St Baldrick's Day every year where people (girls and boys) sign up to either cut or shave their hair and it's beautiful because so many people do it and you see so many girls with their heads shaved
