Animals eat other animals Period! For whatever reason in this case the snake didn't eat the pups. I'd venture to guess it wasn't actually protecting them though. For every instance like this where the preditor didn't eat the pray there are many many times more where the preditor did what it was supposed to do. You guys can watch Zootopia as many times as you want, it's not going to change nature.
Do you believe everything you read? Snakes don't protect potential prey. Something else kept the snake from devouring it. Period.

Well the pups do look too big for the snake to eat and they're not trying to attack it so it would have no reason to attack them. So there's the "something".
Anthracite hit my point. It's a few snapshots followed by someones opinion of what they saw. And their opinion suggested that a Cobra wants the puppies to live because it understands compassion. I'm telling you that's bullsh!t. I dont doubt that it didnt eat the dogs. Im saying it's not for the resons the text suggested.
So yes, i read the damn post.
I know this is old as shit but here you go: the other side of the well was filled with water, as in the well is slanted with one part dry and the other submerged. The cobra obviously did not want to go in the wet end, and neither did the dogs, so they had to huddle on the other side. And in case noone pointed this out, it's likely cold and dark in the bottom of a well, so the snake likely huddled with the dogs for warmth.
So yes, i read the damn post.
