As a Canadian I can confirm. Every year at Festival Du Voyageur you can do this. Only fresh snow that they pack down and make sure is good.

@chilledtothebone you really have to be in the mood for sweet. Also giving it to kids oh god it's a nightmare. They will get it everywhere.

And you have to boil the maple syrup down so it's really thick...totally worth it!

I don't even live in Canada but I'm like 15 minutes away from the border and we do this too, it's actually really good

Seems like most countries have something they eat with everything. Canadians have maple syrup with everything. For Italians it's pesto. For Asians it's soy sauce. Salsa for Spanish. And I think the French have wine with everything.

LITERALLY THOUGH. Having maple syrup with breakfast sausage is the greatest thing in the world.
