This reminds me of the one about "creative space," that it is what you make of it, not building one.

Admittedly, I could do with a *better* desk.

He actually said it? Wow, that sounds very different than from what I read in his books, and both his books and this statement are brilliant but in completely different ways.

This actually from his non-fiction autobiography, "On Writing", which I found in a Barnes and Nobles last year.

I suggest reading it. I "knew" who King was when I first picked it up, but I had never picked up one of his books. And then I did and I loved it.
