To be fair, whenever I wash a spoon, the water always rebounds into my face and just generally makes a huge mess. Besides, the job with extracting oil etc. is split amongst people and they're paid for it.
They left out the part about needing to mine steel from the earth, refine it, combine it with other alloys, shape it into a spoon, ship it to stores whete it waits until it's purchased and finally lands in a drawer.

Applying logic to the spoon market only reveals that one or the other isnt better, they're just differenft. And that doesnt make for an intriguing sign....
And you forgot the part where you re-use (hence why you wash it) the metal spoon you bought. So the effort put in for a spoon is divided for each time you use that spoon, which is only once for plastic spoons.
