Wrong role. Belle is *supposed* to be pretty. According to the books, Hermione Granger isn't. Remember, that's a chick for whom it takes literal fucking magic to get her hair to behave.
Problem is, is that society and what media is covering of it has gone so far downhill and most people have become so cynically jaded that's it's hard to tell.
Am I one of the only people who thinks that she is not that attractive...I mean shes cute in her own way and im sure some people find that shes beautiful but shes not my cup of tea.
Wait, so everyone else fantasy casts their own work, too? (Mine will never make it. Some of these premises make Sharknado look sane; I'm just incurably silly.)
I can't speak for other writers, but, yes I do sort of "stunt cast" my works... it sometimes helps me to visualize the charecters.
If it is a charecter that shares archetypical traits that are shared by an actor, actress or roles they have played it helps me to hammer out the motivation and emotion that they have for a given situation.
Imagining that actor/actress delivering the lines I am working on... in addition to reading them out loud myself can help me work through a scene.
At least Emma looks like belle
And that's not some cheap, I'm trying to get in your pants hitting on you sort of way. It's the God's honest truth.
Should my screenplays ever make it, I want her in them. She makes my heart go all gooey.
