Maybe she thought she was psychic but was too awkward to ask when she still had to sit near you after asking

or she just wanted to know if the op has one but feared the "i need to sit more with this stranger here after asking the question"-fear and asked before she leaved so she can get away without sitting more with the op on the same place..awkward silence and stuff.. would be weird i think.. :)
