It looks like they cleared out a hell of a lot of trees to build that though.

True but since the replaced the soil the trees could grow back at least until the roots start to degrade the concrete tunnels.

The point is that building with tunnels like that disturbs the ecosystem less than just cutting the area in half with a road. The tops of the tunnels allow animals to safely cross the road to each side.

I actually would like to know where they're doing this in thailand. I haven't seen any news about it.
