I tried singing Believer by Imagine Dragons under my breath, and it sounded okay-ish. Then I tried it a little louder. Today, I learned that I can't hit any notes in that song!
It's not that most of you can't hit the note it's that almost all of you don't support the note correctly. Singing quietly or under your breath doesn't take much effort, whilst singing a high note correctly takes alot more effort than people realize. Your diaphragm is what forces your lungs up to expel air the higher the note the more force needed to hit the note. For beginners, and everyone is a beginner unless you've had a few years of vocal lessons, singing it loud is just about the only way to hit those notes. Pretend you have to say something to someone a football field away. That breath you just took, the tightening of your stomach, that's what you need to do in order to be prepared to hit those notes. Granted some of them may be out of your range, nothing you can really do there but the vast majority should be reachable. If you overshoot the note or undershoot that just means you need more practice on that song, once a week when it comes on the radio is not really enough.
ill take ur word for it
