According to ZMEScience, the compound polyethylene oxide is just one massive molecule. What you see is simply the molecule sticking together

I use this stuff all the time as a precipitant to promote nucleation and subsequent growth of my crystals. It's a polymer, so it does have a lot of cool properties.

To put it in laymans terms, its a liquid composed of really long molecule strands thats are mixed sort pf like noodles that are tied together. The molecular weight kf the strand pulls on the other strands making it flow out.

Funnily enough, Polyethylene Oxide is one component of "personal lubricant" and I think we can see why. ;)
