I mean, I always use warm water (near the middle) so slightly cold hands are always fixable.

Wouldn't the water get hot gradually? Not come out burning hot

In my experience, taps I use start out cold, but after like 5 seconds it reaches the correct temperature.

The facet at my house was like that when we moved in but I didn't even look at the thing, i just grabbed the correct handle out of muscle memory

Hot water is on the left by convention. I doubt anyone actually pays attention to the little red and blue stickers.
