the color blue has been linked to neural responses that include calmness, sleepiness and relaxation. The same techniques are used in fast food: red and yellow increase aggressiveness and appetite.

wasn't there also one where they switched to yellow lights to get teens from hanging out. something about it being unflattering to be in yellow light, or something.
Research is ongoing as to whether it is the color of the lights that is decreasing crime and suicide, or if simply by making such a drastic change in something so obvious people feel as if their behavior is being monitored. The effects have not been studied enough to show if crime and suicide rates will remain statistically lower or if they will return to pre-change numbers after the novelty has worn out, but initial results are promising.
Last year around Christmas time, a lot of people in my town put up blue lights as decoration. I thought it was just some sort of holiday decor trend but maybe for some people there was more to it?
Give me more colour science
