Well the tapes are supposed to show how everyone played a part in her decision to kill herself. It was a terrible thing for her to do for a few of them, but i'd say about 7 of them kinda deserved it. 3 of them definitely did. Also, it's placed in highschool, and used as the narrative plot device so teenage emotional girl logic?
I think in real life that doesn't really work though. If people don't like you, or didn't care if they hurt you while you were alive, there's a pretty good chance they'll either ignore whatever tape you left them or roll their eyes at it and say it was pathetic. The show was pretty much just a revenge suicide fantasy. Plus, it's kind of sick to blame other people for a person's suicide instead of exploring the emotional problems/mental illness that ultimately caused it. Nobody is reaponsible for another's mental health.
I'm honestly trying to avoid this show. I was suicidal for a time and if I thought death could give me what I wanted I may have. From what I've heard she "gets" what she wanted through suicide. It glorifies suicide as a solution. I just hope I'm wrong. *Rant over*
TRIGGER WARNING:
If you have EVER had any form of depression, suicidal thoughts, or self harm ideas, DO NOT WATCH THIS SHOW.
It is a terrible thing to show- but they do show her actually committing suicide. They show the steps up to her final decision, no one stopping her, and her family is the one to find her.
I wish I hadn't watched it. It brought back too many bad thoughts and negative reminders. Now I'm back to struggling harder than before with my PTSD.
But can anyone tells me what kind of sane human being make tape to map people feel bad about them ending their own life
Cause I would have stayed alive to plan my revenge on them
I have been homicidal so I know
And what she did is so overdramatic
