Does it open the doors without pressing a button too?

my car unlocks the doors if you press a button on it while having the key in the vicinity of the car... so yeah, I guess this is possible. Kid's still a fucking moron, but possible.

Maybe the kid was grounded or otherwise not allowed to use the car. Kid's the dick. Smart, but still a dick.

Whats the point in having a small safe like that if it's not drilled into the floor?

My grandma has a small one not drilled to the floor but it's hidden so it could be like that ?

It may also just have important documents that need to be grabbed in case of fire/flood/evacuation. The safe itself may be water and/or fireproof in case it's not safe to go and grab on the way out.

The keypad doesn't look water/fire proof.

keypad safes also have a key. I know because I was once a kid like this kid and I stole the key just to prove how pointless safes were for hiding alcohol. I never use the key now that I have my own money, but none-the-less....
