Because the guy's attitude can set the tone for the whole relationship. Of course, it's a two-way street, but a lot of it is a result of his attitude

Hmm... I think it depends on both people's personalities. Before getting married, I simply wouldn't stay in a relationship if the other person's personality didn't mesh well with mine.

First impressions are ofcourse based on looks but long term it doesn't matter. I can confirm because I look like shit and my gf is a godess, she didn't even wanted to talk to me first, but patience, psychology and humour, did the work for me. Looks matter but only about 15-25% , rest is personality.
