Haggling is a fine art.
My home town has a fair with hundreds of craft sellers and people selling novelty items. I haggle every year. I love to haggle lol one year a booth was selling harry potter stuff and I was really into HP that year. I got 285 worth of items for only 45 dollars. I even had gotten a pretty glass beaded Rosary for originally 25 bucks but I got it for 12 it was the last day and it was 10 minutes till closing. I pulled the old I have 10 on me and the guy says can't for 10 I say well highest I can go is 12 and he got all antsy than goes fine. lol
Dude I even haggle at good will stores lol
Most good will stores don't work like that. Like literally almost all. They're stores just like walmart. There's a price tag and that's what you pay. No haggling.
Wrong actually. In any good will/resale store you can haggle for a cheaper price. For instance I was at a good will and found a Sully from monsters inc. stuffed animal that was for 8 bucks. But it had sticker burrs in the fur. So I took it to the manger and asked for a lower price due to the problem. He marked down to half off. I also broght up to him a bathmat my mom wanted that had a stain on it. My mom was going to just dye it a dark color to hide the stain. It was originally 5 dollars but he marked to 2.
Also these stores love when you buy alot. I have went to another resale shop where they have trash bags of stuffed animals for 1 buck each. I would buy all they had usually 8 to 15 bags. I use them for gifts/prizes at my church during holidays and/or carnivals. Because I always clean them out I haggled them to charge me a quarter a bag. So if I get 10 bags it only cost me 2.50.
You can haggle anywhere you just have to know how.
Haggling means: dispute or bargain persistently, especially over the cost of something.
And that is what I did. It took alot of convincing to get the guy to mark it down. And what about the stuffed animals?
I did it for other things as well. And not just over damaged items or for buying items in bulk.
I have also talked a good will shop to mark a leather jacket down from 60 to 35 and gave it to my brother as a birthday gift. Also got a sofa that was 45 to 15. Gave that to my youngest brother for his new apartment.
All good will and all had nothing wrong with them. You don't get it these stores don't care because they get this stuff for free.
Look I'm not going to argue about this anymore you are being ridiculous. It isn't complaining it is just makeing sure I get my moneys worth when I shop. I came from a large family where every paycheck was already spent before we got it. Where a candy bar that was 30 cents at the time was a rare treat very rare. I learned to strech money so far that the president on the bill feels the pull. And thanks to my haggling my little family is able to have nice things.
I never haggle below what I think the item is truely worth because the store needs to make money as well but I refuse to pay twice what something is worth. And when I can't haggle I price match.
Just because you don't have the coincidence to haggle doesn't mean I shouldn't do it.
