Charcoal is actually good for you though. I took charcoal tablets a few months ago to clear my stomach from toxicities. And I used to use it instead of toothpaste
I heard that charcoal is indeed awesome for your teeth. Isn't it expensive, though?
Right now I use turmeric mixed with coconut oil (I have 2 toothbrushes, one for the turmeric-coconut paste and the other for regular toothpaste and I basically brush twice) and it works pretty well, but if charcoal is better, I might consider switching to it.
Oh yeah, me neither. Cigarette ash is pretty much the opposite of good for you. I'm gonna check it out, thanks!

charcoal / coal is pretty usefull. if you are in the nature and eat something bad, you can eat / drink it (coal powder mixed in water) and it will bind the bad stuff in your body. its really helpfull in fact. you can use the coal from a fire you made in the wilderness in the case you need it. if you have nothing else as a medicine and you get ill, it's good to know this stuff to help yourself^^ basic survival stuff :) BUT don't use ash from a cigarette.. in this ash is bad stuff you don't want in your body.. trust me :P
Charcoal is too abrasive for teeth, many dentists advise againt regularly using those charcoal tooth scrubs that companies like Lush have come out with. The abrasiveness can destroy your enamel, making teeth look whiter and feel cleaner, but they are more vulnerable.
But I don't use charcoal to brush on my teeth. The one we use, we don't harshly rub against our teeth, but rather mix with water and rinse our mouths with it
I mean the charcoal tooth tabs that are in style right now, its pretty much pressed charcoal and baking soda in a pill that you crunch in your mouth, mix in some water, and then brush your teeth with the grit. It's like exfoliating your teeth which is horrible, it makes them look white and feel clean which is why people like them. But they are horrible for your enamel. Even normal toothpaste with gritty pieces in them scratch some enamel off.

which tabs are you talking about?specialy for the teeth? or tabs for mixing in water & consume (survival / outdoor reasons)? because the survival coal tabs i had, had no baking soda in it.. i don't think this would be good for consuming.. or?
