Humans are the dominant species on the planet. It's within our rights to kill anything we want as long as it doesn't threaten the continued survival of our species.
Our species. Pandas are more expensive to save then they are worth and if they go extinct nothing bad happens. Bees on the other hand are important, so we can't kill them as we depend on them.
If we can stop an animal from going extinct then we should - but not when saving that animal kills more humans than if they just died. Kinda like donating to a "Save the Koala" instead of a cancer research thing. More people would be saved by donating to help cure cancer.
