Two up votes for you. I call it- voting karma. Yeah... the daddy thing or "hey mamma" thing is just too creepy for me. Not knocking people who it works for, just my taste. It does suck when you use a nickname for an ex though and that word is tainted. Then your new boo buys you something with a penguin or whatever on it and you are like... thaaanks... or worse- you meet someone who randomly calls you the same nickname an ex used for you.
? No point. Just banter. I saw you be down voted so I upvoted both your posts. No point, I just don't like seeing people get downvoted when they are civilly expressing themselves.
My husband knows if he says he is Daddy to me I will beat him up lol. He knows the last thing I want to think of is my Dad like that.
Only time I ever refer to him as Dad or Daddy is directing our kid to him. Like "Go ask daddy or did daddy do this or that."
I remember when I was a kid and my great aunt use to refer to her husband as pa and he to her as ma. And even that felt wrong.
Sometimes my husband will say something like: " Do you love your Daddy?"(Refering to himself) I give him the evil eye and say "Yes I love my DAD, ALLEN NEIGHBORS VERY MUCH!"
He does it cause he thinks it is funny. He is an ass.

The only appropriate reason for calling your other half "Daddy" is if you're referring to him to your child. That's it.
Exactly
But what I also can't stand is when parents call their KIDS mama or daddy. Its like huh? (O.o)
Now I can understand little nicknames for kids. Like my kid is usually angel, baby, sweet heart, monkey, baby girl, princess, and so on.
( I never call my husband baby we call each other hun or babe. Or he will call me babydoll but that is it.)
And little boys get called little soldier, little man, baby boy, big boy, mr man, monkey, angel, little prince, his royal cutness lol, and so on.
BUT NOT ONCE do I call a baby Daddy or Mama. That just confusses them. And it is weird.
Exactly! It's fricking weird. It's alright to give them cute nicknames (my Dad still calls me angel and darling and I'm an adult xD) but why why WWHHHYYYYY would anyone call their child Mummy or Daddy?!?!?!

I'm 26 years old and I still sometimes call my Dad "Daddy".
Why'd all the weirdos with father issues have to go and ruin such a lovely innocent word???
I'm gonna call my boyfriend something like kitty not daddy
And noe I can never use that word ever again
