In some places the employers/bosses have the right to call a doctor for you to prove whether you were actually sick or just lying... those doctors usually only sign a certificate saying you are ill though, they don't give you medicine or schedule you for further treatments
Had strep throat once. Still got my tonsils, and apparently my family usually don't get them removed because apparently we don't normally have any issues with them.
