That would be adorable. If I had twins, I'd totally do that with my partner.

I'd have them both tattooed at birth with "Twin #1" on the sole of their right foot.

Awww, that way they know we love them equally! I mean you. *whistles*

Dr. Gregory House: Thirty percent of all dads out there don't realize they're raising someone else's kid.

Natural selection actually causes that. Babies that obviously look nothing like their fathers don't get to grow up and reproduce. So, bland babies are allowed to live and spread their bland-at-birth genes. Wait a few hundred millennia and you've got today's situation, even in a civilized world.

Ugh, don't you just hate it when you die because you were raised by a single parent?

Niriel, are you saying that pretty babies die and "bland" ones live because the the fathers are ugly and the jealous types?

I'm talking about slight trends over millennia, most of which happened before tools were invented. I've been trying to dig up the article I read on the subject fifteen years ago but no luck so far; I'll ask some friends.

Whoa dude, I'm just trying to make a House MD reference. No need to get too into it.

As soon as you see your baby for the first time, you'd recognise it anywhere. Like yes, it's a lizard potato, but it's MY lizard potato.
