Oh God, why is this so relatable?
I do something similar. Every time I feel really happy or make a good memory somehow, if I can, I take some sort of little trinket from the occasion and put it in the mini plastic purple trash can that I keep on my desk. Like a marble from Field Day in elementary school, a strip of rainbow fleece from a no-sew fleece blanket I made with my girlfriend, a childhood toy that you can't get in stores any more, and a little plastic heart that I got on the last family vacation I had where I was truly happy.
Whenever I feel lonely, unwanted, or like 'trash' (haha get it?), I open the little trash can and take out the objects and reminisce about the good times and try to remember how happy I was then. It's very calming.
I'm back to this post again, haha. I woke up today and was feeling kinda crappy, so I decided to make a paper star for the hell of it. I struggled for a while looking at some still-image tutorials, but I found a video that was pretty helpful for me. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=8SG6e7blVS8 And after I finished making the star, I actually felt a lot better.
Just in case any FSers got inspired by this comic like I did!
