Tumblr bullied a Steven Universe fangirl because she drew a character too thin, I think. They would make new accounts to harass her, they would badmouth her on other fandoms and other blogs, etc. it got so bad that she attempted suicide, and thankfully failed.

Didn't they also get mad at her for drawing garnet " too light " when she was red instead of the non canonical brown? And again when she again human fluttershy as native American?
There are 550 million active tumblr users. You can't just lump them all together. However, idiocy seems to run rampant there, but's that's true of anywhere on the internet. The steven universe fandom has it's dark side on tumblr and deviantart. Fans are crazy.

Also, I think someone drew an su character humanized, but they thought it was blackface so they harassed them too
@silvermyth don't know why you were downvoted...
@german_satan a few days ago, the creator released some drawings from before the show debuted. one of them was a canceled character named Concrete. Tumblr assumed Concrete, whose skin was black, was an African American stereotypical caricature and turned against her.

"don't know why you were downvoted" - Really? You haven't noticed how every posting mentioning Tumblr but not that it's the worst site in the universe gets downvoted immediately? Tumblr has around 300 million blogs and more than 130 billion postings, so it has the largest number of delusional morons, and the standard algorithms of most social media sites will recommend you the kind of content that you appear to prefer. So when you systematically scan Tumblr for the idiocy it has to offer, it's probably easy to believe that the social justice terrorists (people who are really harassing people beyond cyberspace) there are getting more and more. Same as you would probably tell people to avoid swimming in the ocean because there are so many turds floating in it, when you're not "smart" enough to avoid the vicinity of sewer outlets.
nope, i haven’t. I have noticed that i’m the only one who posts “not everyone on tumblr is a man-hating feminazi” stuff. a lot of my recent posts come directly from Tumblr and either involve a user being weird (buying 46 donuts weird, not assuming your dog is transgender weird) or a user making fun of other Tumblr users who go over the top.
To an extent. Basically if someone tells you to kill yourself you can report them and they'll actually be banned because the report system won't be automated garbage. And if you want to to write or draw about darker content people can't report you or make a false fallout post just because they don't like what you say. They also won't be allowing maps so that's a plus.
So basically free speech unless you're using that free speech to ACTUALLY harass, cause harm, or falsely slander them.
Don't forget the people who try so hard to be accepting of mental illness that they swing in the opposite direction and glorify and promote them and criticize people who try to cope with and cure their illnesses, saying that they just need to do nothing and "embrace their neurodiversity."
Like anything at all

All the (cherry picked) golden examples of this.
