The way it's written, is that she wasn't just teasing him, she was ridiculing him in front of her family. That screams to me a lack of respect. The fact that he 'just quietly replied dark white..' Says to me that he felt belittled. What other point would she have to call him out in front of her family if not to make him feel small and dumb?
If he's not valued enough for her to make an example out of his opinion in front of people who are hers, then, yea she doesn't deserve him.
Yeah, I can kind of see that. She could have just said "Babe, tell them what color your shirt is" I've done things similar to this with my husband but it was all in good nature..never to make him feel small or dumb...more because I thought whatever I was teasing him about was cute. Imo the fact that this guy thought his shirt was dark white is kind of cute and funny. I'd probably bring it up in conversation too.
Rather than jumping to She doesn't deserve him though I'd say if he really felt belittled or picked on he should tell her how it made him feel
If you say something that stupid around me, I'm probably going to do the same thing she did, but only with friends or family. That's actually a good thing, you've been accepted into zeh circle and it means I actually like you.
yes, how dare a woman in a relationship make a joke about her boyfriend/husband.
"ha, your glasses are crooked a little bit!"
"you don't deserve me, i'm divorcing you and taking the kids"
Teasing your bf/gf is natural and fun. It's when the teasing becomes belittlement that's the problem. If she had said "this dumbass thinks it's dark white" That would be harsh
I don't think it's really belittlement. My friends and family do things like this on an almost regular basis, and it's always taken in good humor. The person being teased always get quieter and downcast, but they'll bounce back quickly because they know that no one's actually belittling them.

A woman that makes fun of her man doesn't deserve him.
