Can't speak for other countries, but American currency isn't printed on paper. If it was, it would disintegrate when after going through the washing machine. I believe it's a certain cotton blend akin to denim.

No country in this world prints money on paper. It's just a saying that money is paper after all. But it isn't paper. It's something else. I don't remember that something else right now, but it isn't paper I am sure.
