I'm not even sure why or when I started doing this, but I say "pardon me" instead of "excuse me" when trying to get by people, usually at work because things are cramped and it gets insanely busy.
Now I'm kinda curious as to why nobody has ever batted an eyelash because of it.
I do the same, however as I am in highschool it tends to get an odd look from some people. Unsurprisingly, the only person I've met at the entire school that's capable of an intelligent conversation is - shockingly - a teacher. A british literature teacher but still a teacher. He has me looking up people like Michel Foucault in my free time because I wanted to see what he thought of the phrase "Knowledge is power".
