Not sure if this is even true, but still, in 1883 there was a lot less noise pollution so if something were to happen in modern times it definitely wouldn't be heard as loud or as far away

but if the sound traveled the world "4 times", but it's only heard upto 3000 miles away, didn't the sound just travel 3000 miles?
