For the record, i probably question big religion more than most but theres a question i cant get around. What if you thought you had a way of viewing the world that promoted happiness, compassion, understanding, and gratitude. And what if you wanted to show as many people as possible this view because you truly thought it could improve their lives. How would you go about spreading that message? Would it look much different than a church, or even a mega church?
Jesus summed all the law up into 2 commands. Love God with all your heart, mind, soul,, and strength. Love your neighbor as yourself. We should build more homeless shelters. If you want to see what a real Christian community looks like, read Acts 2.
So these people comtribute to build a mega church because that's where they figure they'll get the most programs and whatever. They also contribute to homeless shelters and food banks, but don't make a big deal out of it, so some naysayers don't know WHAT those churchgoers support monetarily. But someone who doesn't support anything thinks he's clever by attempting to call them out.
