My family have owned yellow Labradors for the past 35 years (6 labs overall), I've owned 3 of them. My first lab was a rescue pup, she was neglected in her previous home, but she was the sweetest dog I've ever met. She seemed to know when I was in pain (I have a medical condition, and part of it is that it causes me severe pain) because she would lay down next to me and rest her head on me, and she would always "talk" to me. I honestly don't think you can get a kinder breed of dog

When I was kid we had a yellow Labrador called Jessica and she was the sweetest dog ever. I used to climb onto her basket and fall asleep curled into her and she used to snuggle into me. She was quite old by the time I really got to know her as there was about an 11/12 year difference in age, she sadly had to be put down at the age of 17 because she had started wetting herself because had developed womb cancer. The vet couldnt operate so they put her down. I still miss her even 20 odd years on.
My lab Millie had liver cancer so started throwing up blood and they couldn't operate, so she had to be put down 3 years ago. I now have Teddy and Blossom, who will be 3 in a few months (they're brother and sister)

I'm so sorry to hear that :( please give your dogs lots of cuddles from me ^_^
I will :p
Teddy is named after my nan who passed a few weeks after we brought the pups home (that was her nickname). One of Blossom's middle names is Poppy (I called my grandad Poppy, and he passed away last month)

Are you trying to make me cry?? Seriously tho that's really lovely :)
Therapy dogs are amazing! I see one in the hospital from time to time named Rusty and they give him his own badge and everything. I know some may find this stupid, but these dogs have been trained to comfort people and it can help in these times of crisis and anxiety. Whenever I open my own counseling practice, I'd 100% consider getting one so my clients can interact with them.
