look up the videos of his solar panels. They are REALLY strong. Also, since they are segmented like tiles, if one breaks it doesn't knock out the whole system.
He's also already done it for a few islands in the Pacific as well, and they haven't had any issues.
only if you are replacing your roof. If you are building a house from scratch in an area with a lot of sun, they aren't THAT much more, and they would save you money in the long run. Also, they have like what? A 30 year warranty?
for sure, that's still a pretty long time, considering if you live in an area with hurricanes or hail storms you'll need something done every 5-10 years, although that can be covered by insurance. I bet your insurance would drop with the solar tiles though. Also the equity of the house increases, in case you ever want to sell it.
Funny back in the day you had to put in bids to compete with other company's for contracts to get jobs like this but this guy is willing to pass on the hole biding system and just do it, good for him. Cut out that lowest bidder crap.
