Filter bubble, probably. Most people who see those are going to see the one that, based on their browsing history, will likely be more appreciated by them. They wont see the other one unless they do some serious looking around, which isn't likely. <---my somewhat educated guess.
One article is from last year, the other this one. And it's not contradictory. Perhaps the pic of coffee is a poor choice since the cancer causing is related to extremely hot drink, coffee or otherwise.

Why did the hipster get esophageal cancer? Cause he drank his coffee before it was cool. Not a contradiction actually, and not news either.
I'd see that and click on both to see what the difference is. Granted, you can tell by the title. One says hot drink, the other says coffee. While coffee can be hot, it doesn't have to be and not all hot drinks are coffee. And the cancer cause isn't just hot but people who seem to like things scalding (I'll never understand that.). Maybe if people took the few minutes to actually read instead of just glancing at the title and moving on, they'd learn something.
