I feel like many modern writers and filmmakers don't understand how hard it was to make things for most of human history. Like, a princess destroys her fancy dress as a sign of rebellion and it's just like, "NO! THAT WAS CUSTOM MADE FOR YOU! DO YOU KNOW HOW EXPENSIVE, LABOR-INTENSIVE AND TIME CONSUMING THAT WAS? PEOPLE ARE STARVING IN YOUR KINGDOM AND YOU GO AROUND DESTROYING SILK GOWNS WILLY-NILLY LIKE YOU CAN GET A NEW ONE AT WALMART!"
