But what if there was like some SciFi story where there were guns that fired kinetic discharge from batteries that were non lethal instead of bullets, and they ran out of revolvers or lever actions, except there was a villain who used actual bullets, and it was up to a fledgling detective to bring them to justice? Like this could be cool
