Not really. Bloodflies just really like breeding in corpses, but they can make normal nests. Many of their nests are made in old corpses, but after a while there's nothing left of the original body.

Actually the deseasie in zombies is similar to arsenic in the way that it can perserve a body by brutally killing other bacteria and animals after it has left stage 2 (killing and reanimating a human). because of this a zombie apocholips would last MUCH longer and maggots wouldn't work.
