Yes. If you enter a contractual agreement with a third party business to supply some type of nueral implant or the software for such a device, that contract may contain a clause which says they could do so. By using their product you would then be agreeing to have your mind censored. From all the people I've seen willing to implant such a device for its benefits, if it existed, people may be very close to se spring themselves in this way.
Not really. Someone else would if they didn't. That's how the market works, google didn't come in with an army and seize the internet. People willingly gave them a monopoly. If google came out with self driving cars that worked tomorrow- how many people do you know who would buy one if they could afford it? Probably most of the same people complaining about google docs censorship. It's unfortunate that people seek to think a business would give away their product for free with no strings attached.
But they are the type to give up autonomy by using a third party hosting service? When convenience trumps morals, people will gladly give up privacy for it- as we have seen and continue to see.
It would be nice. The conglomerates too. But asides the deep pocketed people who don't want that to happen- the government seems like it's getting out of the infrastructure game. I think they'd rather allow private companies to provide social services. It's a good way to sidestep all those pesky "rights" and "laws."
Yeah. This goes deep. It's crazy. I was at my friends house and wouldn't stop calling his spouse a moronic stain on humanity. Then they asked me to leave! It was crazy. I put up with them asking I take my shoes off, and their facist insistence I not watch snuff films and hardcore porn in front of their 3 year old, but that was too far. It was like they somehow felt as a private entity that owned a venue they could stifle my rights to say or do what I wanted! And my insurance contract said I couldn't use a hot plate in my apartment, then when my apartment burned down from my hot plate they refused to give me any money! What's next? Will they ban swearing from children's tv, or make me wear pants when I go to a fancy restaurant?! Truly the end of free will. If only free will did exist I could stop using services I disagree with to incentivize them to make changes I feel would be beneficial and align with my ethics. Someone should invent some kind of concept of ethical spending.
Thank you!! These are all accurate analogies. Google can't stop you from saying what you want to say - but they can refuse to give you a platform to do so. I'd give you a lighter if you said you were starting a campfire up for us, but I'd definitely take it back if you burnt my friend's house down with it. Get your own lighter.
Well that's a shame. A damned crying shame.
And here I was, giving serious contemplation to starting up some GoogleDocs to share what I write with you fine people.
What I aught to do is start my own website. But that's a little pricier than I can afford at the moment. Traffic generates bandwidth consumption and that is an extra charge.
While I don't expect much, if I mention it here and on my twitter where it would need to be mentioned, it will cause some. Probably a lot of one time use browsers that come out of curiosity.

That's NOT going to happen now, or ever.
Yup. Welcome to 1984.
