Isn’t there a thing where humans are really strong, but your brain restricts you from using all of your strength or something.
Like you could bite your finger off if you really wanted to, but your brain stops you from doing it
Yes. A healthy mind doesn't want to hurt itself (a human can easily bite off a finger as eluded to by diyrogue,) and people (especially trained fighters) are generally MORE likely to injure or kill a person when drunk because you're less likely to hold back. But also, your body is immensely strong. What causes people to go flying when hit by a pulse of sudden and brief electricity isn't the electricity itself, it is the force of their muscles contracting suddenly. A human being can move at insane speeds, jump 30+ feet untrained and more. Your muscles literally have enough capability to break your own bones through flexing. Your mind stops you from exerting enough force to damage yourself most of the time. That is why most types of injury from over exerting muscles occur through sudden application of unanticipated load (weight), repetitive/constant application of load over time and or outside a "safe" range of movement, or those who have trained extensively to do so.

The same reason you get flung across the room when you get electrocuted: your brain limits the amount of strength you use so it can use fine motor skills.
