Flatter shoes are better sometimes than a high arch. It really matters on buying shoes that DONT bend in the middle where your good doesn't bend. Brooks NB. Nike bend bad. And it makes your foot hurt often as well as pulling tendons. Especially if you stand a lot for work.

A circle with an infinite curvature is a flat line. The larger the curve, the less you notice it and on the scale of the Earth, the curve is a hundredth of a millimeter per foot or so.
