Facebook is his site though. Nothing bad would happen should everyone decide to leave Facebook ( except for job loss ) and Facebook isn't needed for anything besides basic communication that can be easily replaced
While it is hypocritical more people would suffer from full censored internet than a full censored Facebook
Facebook is a network of companies. They have billions of acquisitions in diverse tech areas. Their data, research, and funds are used all over in places we wouldn't suspect. The social networking side is a small part of their business, hence its value. Just as Apple doesn't just sell computers and google isn't just a search engine and Amazon doesn't just deliver packages. A sensored internet would widely effect many, but the idea that private individuals can control the flow of information so totally is the issue, especially as they succeed in their quest to become ingrained in our infrastructure. Like credit cards were once a novelty and are now all bit required, as these companies tech underpins gps, the car you drive (or drives itself) how you pay for things and more- it becomes increasingly important to protect not just the public, but competition in the market. Of course he doesn't want the telecom to have control, he wants control. Whoever has the control has the power.
That's from a satirical site. In fact, the original picture showed it. Evidently someone realized that it was a joke, didn't fit with their message so edited it out.
