Also, can the op also be a special user? When I manually set my own name to special in the html, it removes the green op effect. Do you see both of them or only the op?
@Zeus I knew that. But that's an inadequate excuse not to remove a post. I requested for one of my posts to be removed, but I got an email saying popular posts are not allowed to be removed.
@sir_spiderman so why are my posts removed if it's been reposted? That's why I don't really post anymore, I cannot be bothered with the hassle getting it to stay without fear of it having a watermark or it already being posted.
If it gets to the popular page then it is obvious that the majority of FS users want to keep it on the site. No point in removing a post, even a repost, if the users are enjoying it.
@sir_spiderman there is only op users so you can identify yourself in the thread more easily.
@shiftingsands we made a post a long time ago regarding how we decide to remove posts. There are many factors. I can't find any email from you regarding that subject. You might have sent it to the wrong person. We always comply to users wanting to delete their own post. Send us that email and we'll delete the post.
Whatever. It was a year ago. I doubt you'd scroll all the way back to find that email. And I used the fun substance contact form to send it, so it wouldn't have gone to the wrong person.
@Zeus I was thinking more along the lines of whether you see your name with the special background around the font as well as the op-user green effect.
Also @Zeus, if you REALLY aren't allowed to remove popular posts, then how come there was that time a lot of popular posts were deleted to reduce 'clutter' (I remember a lot of my posts, even from years ago that had generated a fair amount of likes were removed). Does that make sense? Aren't reposts contributing to the clutter?
@sir_spiderman my user is green and glowing. Is that what you're asking?
@shiftingsands I believe you're referring to the mass purge. Of course we can delete anything we want. But we had to code out a feature just to do that. We were running out of disk space then. And no, we didn't delete only your posts. Everyone's posts got deleted too.
@Zeus if I could ask really politely, may this post be removed? I requested for it to be taken down last year, but it got turned down due to its popularity. http://funsubstance.com/fun/389554/refugee/ Thank you
Is there anyway you can retrieve the email thread? I can't seem to find it. Would like to review what happened as we don't deny deletion of personal post.
