It's a complete lie to say that things like depression isn't a burden. It a burden on the afflicted, friends, parents, spouses, and family. We should still take care of them. It's just a lie to say that it's not a burden.
You aren't a burden. But everyone carries one. I want to help people carry theirs.

It's semantics, Spidey. A piano is heavy, unless you have ten people lift it. Does it change the mass of the piano? No. Does it change the perceived weight of the piano to the point where one wouldn't consider it heavy? Of course.
I know i'm a burden, that's why i try to stay quiet about it.

Also, the meme says, "and you just want to talk," implying that I on the receiving end am not being asked to be a counselor or a crisis line. Just a listener.
It also says "YOU are not a burden", instead of "DEPRESSION is not a burden". Of course depression, anxiety, etc are burdens, but that doesn't mean the people carrying those burdens weigh us down. They (or we) are weighed down, and a listening ear gives them (us) the chance to set down all the baggage and rest for a moment.
And context of these memes imply that a mental disease is involved or at the very least there are some unlikeable qualities about yourself that would still be a burden.
It's true but you have to talk to people who are a) mentally sound enough to listen and b) hopefully professionals. I know that when I was at my lowest other people were drawn to telling me their problems and it was overwhelming. But now years later I've had training in helping people and I know how to create boundaries so that it isn't a burden :)
One of the brightest moment I've had the last months was when I could just sit and talk for a little bit, not even saying that much, to a classmate with similar problems. We both ended up feeling a lot better after that. These sorta things end up positive, neutral or negative depending on a huge number of factors. Some find it a burden while others find a sense of safety in talking. If you are having problems don't be afraid to try and see what happens. If it end up bad it ends up bad, that's what life is. You are worth happiness, don't be scared to pursue it.
