I saw this on the weather channel. The ice was super slippery and the deer couldn’t stand but the ice was too thin for a person to go out there. The pilot used the rotor wash to push the animal to shore.

Deer (or any hooved animals actually) can rarely move well on ice, I've seen a goat break a hip on ice because it fell.
